Recently, I have noticed several TV comercials that use Spanish as well as English. If you see any of these write down the answers to the questions below and email it to me for extra credit. (The commercials are on regular stations, not on the Spanish channels):
    1. What is the commercial for?
    2. What is the slogan?
    3. What did they say in Spanish?
    4. Were you able to understand the Spanish? Why or why not?

There has been a lot of discussion in the news lately about immigration and immigrant protests. A large majority of these immigrants are of Hispanic origin. Read about these issues in your local paper, online or watch it on the nightly news and give me your opinion on the situation and what you think should be done. A well thought out and insightful response is worth extra credit.

I'll post the responses I get here. Feel free to agree, disagree or debate with your classmates.
 
As everyone knows, recently in the news, immigrants have been protesting all of the time. On May 1, people did not go to work, school, or any of their obligations because they were out protesting. In my personal opinion I think that it is absurd how all of these illegal aliens come and live in our country, where they are not allowed and it is illegal, and they are now protesting saying that they are not treated fairly. I think that these people should not be here in the first place unless they are citizens. If you are a citizen then you have some say and it should be ok to protest and speak your opinion, but for all of those illegal aliens, that aren't even meant to be here, they should not be out protesting. They should just either try and become legal or go home to where they came from. I know it may be wrong to say this, but it is my personal opinion. These immigrants are able to get jobs that American people need.  They take away from those who can legally work. This is my personal opinion on immigrants protesting and I think that they should just stop because theoretically they are not legally allowed to be here.
